As we continue to transform our business, several shifts in TWINO’s management structure have been made to further sharpen our focus and enhance our ability to achieve strategic priorities. Changes include the internal appointment of new Chief Executive Officer and Chairwoman of the Management Board Karīna Caunīte-Orupe, former Risk Director and Member of the Management Board, and the appointment of new Risk Director and Member of the Management Board Māris Čevers, former Head of Compliance and Risk Management. Both appointments are approved by the Financial and Capital Market Commission (FCMC) and are effective immediately.

Karīna Caunīte-Orupe succeeds Anastasija Oļeiņika, who will remain with the company as a Member of the Supervisory Board replacing Nauris Bloks, who has decided to pursue other interests outside TWINO. These changes are subject to final FCMC approval.

“This is a thoughtful transition at both the Management Board and organizational leadership levels and will ensure continued succession and good governance”, Anastasija Oļeiņika explains.

“Karīna and Māris are established leaders who have taken key roles during their time at TWINO and we’re confident in their ability as our operations continue to evolve and grow more complex.”

Karīna Caunīte-Orupe has been with TWINO since it was established in 2015 and has a unique understanding of the business and market dynamics. She has broad experience in operational management, strategic planning, senior leadership, process and project management, as well as risk management.

“Having worked with Karīna during the past 8 years, I know that her vast knowledge of our operations, values, and system, make her the ideal candidate for the position. She is completely prepared for these new responsibilities, and the Management Board in its new setup is ready to lead TWINO into the next chapter”, says Armands Broks, the sole shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TWINO.

“These decisions reflect the management and the Supervisory Board’s vision to build an organization that is well-positioned to deliver long-term growth”, he adds. “We appreciate Nauris contribution to advancing TWINO with his expertise and are happy to welcome Anastasija to the Supervisory Board where her deep knowledge along with the experience in strategic planning within the financial technology industry will help us set new directions for growth.”

Māris Čevers has been working in risk management for more than 15 years in the insurance and banking sectors, including risk management positions at AS Citadele banka, AAS Balta, Balcia Insurance SE, and most recently as Head of Compliance of Risk Management at TWINO. In his new role, Māris will be responsible for ensuring the company’s risk control and compliance function, supervising the internal control system, and coordinating the activities of all structural units of the organization related to risk management and compliance. The main responsibilities include the development of a risk strategy, including determining the organization’s overall risk profile, assessing and identifying the organization’s risks, and compliance with the risk strategy. Māris holds a professional bachelor’s degree in European Business, qualification in Enterprise and Institution Management, and is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration at Riga Business School.
